An award winning Journalist and Independent filmmaker, Shashidhar. S. Kapur has worked in both electronic as well as print media .An Alumnus of The Scindia School, Gwalior he graduated in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College Delhi. Thereafter, he went on to do a Master’s in Philosophy, following it up with a PG Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication. Later, he did the Film Appreciation Course from FTII, Pune.

Shashidhar was the Head – ETV(MP/ Chhattisgarh ) -part of India’s largest network of regional channels( he also coordinated the entire group for a while ) : prior to which he was the Features Editor of Hindustan Times -at Bhopal. He was the Founding CEO of the first ever cable TV Network of Madhya Pradesh- S.E.E. TV (later a part of Bhaskar TV) 1997.

Over 500 of his articles have appeared in all the leading publications of India –in English and Hindi. Besides, Shashidhar has Directed / Produced Documentaries & shortfilms across genres and TV software (News based programmes /TV Series) – for Doordarshan (DD-1, DD-News & DD -MP), ETV and others. Till date, he has produced 13documentaries & 3 shortfilms for various bodies including the Public Service Broadcasting Trust ( PSBT ) UNDP. “ Dayabai-Tribal Mercy” and “Adhure Manushya” are the notable ones.
Shashidhar’s papers on various topics have been published in reputed Journals internationally. The one on “Science & Spirituality” was presented at Indian Science Congress and included in their Journal. A shortlist includes “ An Indian approach to Media: Multiplex-Bouquet Model ” ( Journal of Indian media) ;” convergence of technology & Congruence of content ( Vidura ; Media Journal of Makhanlal University of Journlism) “Education- Shiksha” ( Indian journal of Education): Hollywoodia – Bollywood / films (Journal of Kushabhau Thakre University of Communication) , Greentech Communication ( Environment ) and “An Indian model of Governance ” (Journal of Atal Bihari Institute of Good Governance &Policy Analysis) ; “ Independent Media for sustainable development “ (Asian Media Congress ) and “Swaraj Se LokSwaraj Tak ” ( Public Relations Society.)

His debut novel titled “ INGLISH TIMES” is doing the rounds of Publishers ; besides, he has completed the first drafts of a book of Theosophical Essays (Monic Singularism) and an anthology of short stories ( In house robbery and other stories ) . Shashidhar is currently writing a book on Bhopal – titled “Optimal City”-due on 1st Nov. 2024; a book of essays on Covid has a end2024 deadline (tentative titles : PPP: Pre , Post Pandemic-The Covid Era or BC to PC : Before Covid to Post Covid :The Pandemic Era)

Widely traveled across India and the globe , Shashidhar is a public speaker of repute. A couple of years ago, he launched an E- media platform (www.mp- media platform .com / www.bhopal-mediaplatform.com). Presently he concentrates on Political / Public advocacy and public education through his portal and events.

In 2016, Shashidhar contributed towards an “Alternative vision for India” of the Swaraj Abhiyan. ( Prashant Bhushan / Yogendra Yadav).Subsequently ,in 2018 & 2023 he designed a Citizens’ Vision-cum- Manifesto for Madhya Pradesh. Couple of months ago ,he brought out a Citizens’ Vision-cum- Manifesto for Bhopal during the Municipal Elections . Shashidhar informally launched the “ Bhopal International Centre” – a proposed Think Tank & Introspection pool – on July 7,2022.Formalisation alongwith other Founding members would took place on Dec.13 , 2022.(www.bhopalinternationalcentre.org) .Sixteen intellectual-cum- creative programmes and events culminated in “ Bhopal International Festival & colloquium “ in June to mark the end of Phase –I. All the aspects and activities are aimed to integrate into an Institutional Endowment and Multimediaplex by 2026.
